DeepSeal Natural ‘W’
Unlike film-forming coatings such as those based on acrylic, polyurethane or epoxy resins. DeepSeal water repellents do not seal the pores at the surface of mineral masonry. They simply form a very thin layer on the pore walls. Water can no longer penetrate in liquid form into capillaries that have been rendered water-repellent, since, as a polar liquid, it is unable to interact with a non-polar, hydrophobic surface. In other words, pores, which have been DeepSealed and are therefore hydrophobic and can no longer, be wetted by water.
To seal untreated concrete, paving and masonry products with the view to providing long term protection from staining, without affecting natural texture or appearance.
HOW TO SPECIFY
All exposed surfaces shall be treated by 2 coats of DeepSeal Natural ‘W’. The application rate is determined by consultation with a representative of Know How Concrete Technologies. Most surfaces 1 Litre = 4 – 7 m2 per coat. All surfaces to be clean and dry and free of loose materials.
HOW TO USE PRODUCT
Apply two light even coats of DeepSeal Natural “W’ to surface with a brush, roller, lambs wool applicator or low pressure spray. Allow drying between coats (approximately 20 – 30 minutes depending on ambient temperature).
Reduction in water uptake, water-vapour permeability, concrete corrosion; Resistance to alkalis and carbons; UV Resistance; Surface left unchanged; Lower maintenance efforts and costs.
All natural unpainted masonry, concrete and pressed clay surfaces.
All tools and equipment should be cleaned thoroughly with clean soapy water.
Any excess material should be mopped from surface and not allowed to pond and dry.
DeepSeal Natural ‘W’ should give many years of protection; however life expectancy will depend on the surface and environment in which it is placed.
DeepSeal Natural ‘W’ is not classified as hazardous, but normal hygiene should be observed following use. It is recommended that protective equipment be worn during use. Avoid contact with eyes and do not consume. Should contact occur, flush thoroughly with clean water.
